26 Mar Is Your Hope Secure?
Have you ever been distracted from something that you have eagerly hoped for, to the point where you lost that hope? Have you ever suddenly discovered that what your mind should be on is hardly ever on your mind and you no longer have it in view? Every child of God has hope, a hope beyond comparison to anything in this world, a hope that is worth fighting or even dying for. But sometimes due to a lack of care, if measures are not put in place, if deliberate decisions and choices are not made, one can lose that hope.
What is this hope?
Our Hope Is Our Salvation In Christ
1. We Were Separated From God
And although you at one time were estranged and alienated from Him and were of hostile attitude of mind in your wicked activities… Colossians 1:21 AMP
One time we were lost in sin, condemned and headed for damnation. We had our backs turned to God, thinking rebellious thoughts and doing rebellious things.
We were strangers to Him and separated from our creator who loves us with a perfect love. There was a wall of partition between us and God because of our sin, because of our sins His face was hidden from us and we could not come into His presence.
That was a hard place, even though at the time most if us did not know it. We were separated from life, real life and were already dead though alive.
2. Then Jesus Came And We Were Brought Near
Yet now has [Christ, the Messiah] reconciled [you to God] in the body of His flesh through death, in order to present you holy and faultless and irreproachable in His [the Father’s] presence. Colossians 1:22 AMP
By Jesus’s death on the cross He cleansed us, made us holy and made a way for us to enter into the holy of holies, He made a way for us to go before God’s presence.
And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; Matthew 27:51
The veil that prevented man from going into God’s presence was torn from top to bottom allowing all who desired to behold God’s presence.
Now we can all enter in God’s presence, we can call Him father. Click To Tweet
We are His children and we can hope to meet Him and see Him face to face after the life here. In Christ we will be presented holy and faultless and without reproach before God and we will be welcomed into eternal bliss with Yahweh!
By Christ’s death on the cross, He reconciled us to God
3. But We Must Secure This Hope
In order for us to share this eternal bliss with God, in order for us to be presented holy and faultless and irreproachable in God’s presence, we must stand our ground. We must secure this hope and make sure not to lose it.
[And this He will do] provided that you continue to stay with and in the faith [in Christ], well-grounded and settled and steadfast, not shifting or moving away from the hope [which rests on and is inspired by] the glad tidings (the Gospel), which you heard and which has been preached [t][as being designed for and offered without restrictions] to every person under heaven, and of which [Gospel] I, Paul, became a minister.
Colossians 1:23 AMP
Jesus can only present us faultless to The Father if we;
- Continue in the faith
- Stay well grounded, settled and stedfast
- Not shifting, moving or drifting away fro this hope.
The Message translation of the bible puts it like this:
You don’t walk away from a gift like that! You stay grounded and steady in that bond of trust, constantly tuned in to the Message, careful not to be distracted or diverted.
In this world of many distractions, lies and snares of the enemy. When the world has turned terribly against God and is constantly luring even the elect away from Truth;
- We must constantly stay in tune with God’s word
- We must be careful not to be distracted or diverted from it.
This is how to ensure that we are presented faultless before God.
This is how to secure our hope of eternal bliss with God. Click To Tweet
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. James 1:25
Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. 1 John 2:24
Consequences Of Not Continuing In Faith
Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. 1 Timothy 4:16
You see it is possible to lose salvation. It is possible to walk out of and from the grace which God has so graciously provided.
If we continue in faith, we will be saved, conversely, if we do not continue, we will not be saved.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. Romans 11:22
Just like those who fell in scriptures lost this hope and faced God’s severity, any one in this present time will lose this hope too if they do not continue in faith.
We all must work hard to secure our hope, we must work and walk with The Holy Spirit to stay grounded in faith and fight off every diversion and distraction of the enemy.
We must keep our eyes on Jesus and stay in tune with His word.
We must stay in fellowship and communion with God as we;
- Study His word TO OBEY IT
- Spend time in prayer
- Constantly yield to God’s Holy Spirit
Are you keeping your hope secure?
Are you standing in the faith?

Posted at 21:53h, 03 AprilDear friend! This is so true! I often think of that verse where the Apostle Paul spoke about if in this life only we had hope in Christ, we would be of all men most miserable. Even with Christ, the trials of this life are so oppressive, and we can lose our hope. But, we have a hope that goes beyond this life, and it is surely what we must cling to, especially in these trying times. I can’t thank you enough for the encouragement you are to me. God bless you, my sister!
