23 Oct Persecution Is Consequential.
What people do not understand they usually reject. When someone is too used to darkness, light can become either a blinder or an illumination. It all depends on perspective and understanding.
Many times you will be misunderstood, mocked at, pushed aside, and even loathed because of your faith in Christ.
Many will not understand it when you insist on the truth, many will think you are simply trying to impress when you do your work diligently and sincerely.
You might even be hated because you refuse to join them in their works of darkness, when you say no to their suggestions they take it personal and set themselves against you.
It Is Part Of The Package.
As a child of light you should not be surprised if this is happening, it is one consequence of giving your life to Christ. Jesus warned us ahead that when we leave the world, we will face persecutions. Light and darkness will always be enemies, the two worlds cannot mix.
Jesus said, Truly I tell you, there is no one who has given up and left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for My sake and for the Gospel’s, Who will not receive a hundred times as much now in this time–houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions–and in the age to come, eternal life.
Mark 10:29-30 AMP
We Do Not Belong Here, We Cannot Be Accepted.
As followers of Christ, we will remain a mystery to the world forever. We must never pursue acceptance or approval by the world. The world does not, cannot understand us, so they will not accept or approve of us. Seeking to be friends with the world would result to being enemies with God. James 4:4
If you belonged to the world, the world would treat you with affection and would love you as its own. But because you are not of the world no longer one with it, but I have chosen (selected) you out of the world, the world hates (detests) you. Remember that I told you, A servant is not greater than his master is not superior to him. If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word and obeyed My teachings, they will also keep and obey yours.
John 15:19-20 AMP
I remember when I was in school and I refused to join some of my roommates against one of the younger girls. The other ladies thought I was pitching against them so they hurled a lot of their angry venoms at me. The whole incident landed me in a lot of problems, and I am talking huge problems that led us to the students’ affairs board. But I knew I had no reason to join the ladies, the young girl had not wronged me in any way, and even if she had, I should be able to forgive and let it go. I faced enormous torments for the rest of that school year, but I stood my ground and loved this new student. See how this story ended Here.
Child of God, when you are faced with trials, temptations and persecutions, do not despair and give in to the pressure, do not yield to the pull of the enemy. No matter how hard it gets, remember that it is very temporary compared to the glory ahead of us.
See 2 Corinthians 4:17
Jesus Won The Victory For Us.
Jesus knew we would face persecutions as a believer, He faced the greatest kinds Himself and He won a victory for us. He told us not to be weighed down, to keep our joy and embrace the victory He has won for us. He assures us that we are overcomers of whatever challenge we might face in this world. He prepared us ahead of time…
I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have perfect peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted! For I have overcome the world. I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.
John 16:33 AMP
So brothers and sisters keep the faith, run the race, refuse to stay down even when you fall, because as long as you keep running, you will win!
…Thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory making us conquerors through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm (steadfast), immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord always being superior, excelling, doing more than enough in the service of the Lord, knowing and being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile it is never wasted or to no purpose.
1 Corinthians 15:57-58 AMP
Keep running, you will win!
How are you running?
