5 Ways To Put The Devil On The Run.

5 Ways To Put The Devil On The Run.

putting-the-devil-on-the-runWe cannot ignore or wish away the fact that we would have to face the enemy and all that he hurls at us as long as we live in this world.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

We can position and conduct ourselves in a manner that will grant us constantly enjoy this victory Christ has won over the enemy for us. Below I share some things I believe that if we live by, we will keep the devil running whenever he attempts to come near…

1. Recognize who you are, and whose you are.
The enemy is no match for the power of your God and Father, neither is he any match for you and the power at your disposal as a child of God.

For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith. Galatians 3:26 (AMP) Click To Tweet

Little children, you are of God you belong to Him and have already defeated and overcome them the agents of the antichrist, because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.1 John 4:4 (AMP)

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. Psalm 82:6

2. Live the lifestyle in agreement with the family you belong.
You are born of God, a descendant of Abraham, and the Bible has stipulated our family’s code of conduct. We must live the life that testifies of our royalty and family heritage.

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. 1 John 2:3,6

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
Romans 12:1-2 (MSG)

Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.Hebrews 12:14 (NLT)

3. Ensure You Continually Dwell In God’s Presence.
If there is any battle you MUST win, it is that of making sure that NO THING and NO ONE hinders you from continually carrying the presence of God.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. Psalm 91:1 (AMP)

BEHOLD, THE Lord’s hand is not shortened at all, that it cannot save, nor His ear dull with deafness, that it cannot hear. [2] But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear. Isaiah 59:1-2 (AMP)

And He Who sent Me is ever with Me; My Father has not left Me alone, for I always do what pleases Him. John 8: 29 (AMP)

4. Do The Exact Opposite.
Whenever the enemy suggests anything to you, do the exact opposite! He is the chief liar; the opposite of anything he says is truth, and exactly what you should do.

…He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a falsehood, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar himself and the father of lies and of all that is false. John 8:44 (AMP)

5. Continually exercise your authority and dominion over the enemy.
Speak God’s word against him; he cannot stand the word of God. No matter how powerful a man is, if he does not use his power, even the smallest opposition will bring him down.

Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord ; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? Jeremiah 23:29

Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and physical and mental strength and ability over all the power that the enemy possesses; and nothing shall in any way harm you. Luke 10:19 (AMP)

Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord , and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. Isaiah 54:15-17

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 Click To Tweet

Conclusion.
Only in eternity would we have stop warding the enemy off our lives. The devil knows that we are already victorious against him, but he also knows that one moment of ignorance or carelessness can give him advantage over believers.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 1 Peter 5:8-9

Is the enemy on the run from you?

How are you keeping him away and under your feet?

It can be easy to get immersed in the culture of our day-to-day living. There’s always that whisper though, and I’m learning more and more that when we act on those whispers, even if it something small, others become blessed in ways that are later revealed to us (and even when they’re not revealed, we have that peace from knowing we did what we were supposed to do). I’m always encouraged that if God is hearing the small things from me and others (and I see often that he certainly does), he also hears the big and will answer/help if it’s right, in his time.

Your first scripture was well-received by me. I’ve been praying to never fall deceived to the antichrist or those against God, but scripture keeps coming up to assure me I am already going to be fine when that/those time(s) come. Including the John 4:4 verse you posted here. Happy rest of the weekend to you. Thank you for be a blessing to me today. 🙂

Wow, Aunty am so blessed with this article. The fourth way i found of uttermost necessity, when we argue with the devil, it leaves the thought hanging there. When we take the opposite action He suggests it ends the debate.

Yay! Emeka! So good to have you here! I agree with you, disobeying the enemy does end the debate.
I trust you are doing great, have a super blessed day!

Great points! I really like this: “Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.”

Becoming a complete offering to God is what we should strive toward daily. Thank you for the reminder. God bless you.
