Long Life And Prosperity

Long Life And Prosperity

long life and prosperityGenerally speaking, when you ask any one for their prayer needs, they mostly always respond with, “long life and prosperity”. I do not think anything wrong with this; I believe that these two truly encapsulates all that a man needs.
Prosperity can be translated to welfare, which in turn means the total well being of a man; everyone wants to prosper and of course no one wants to live a short cut life.
When we wish people a “Happy Birthday”, we most times start, end it with, or just declare, “I wish you Long Life And Prosperity” which is these days commonly abbreviated (to my chagrin) by social media users as LLNP.

You love to live long prosper, I love to live long and prosper.

Protection
We are all safety conscious and would hardly deliberately put our loved ones or us in the path where death or calamity will come on them or us. We want to secure our lives, to be and protected from evil.
Many of us build tall fences around our houses; install security devices like “the hidden camera”, censored outdoor lights, alarms and all. Some hire security agents to guard their houses, some have security dogs and some buy ammunitions in order to protect themselves. All of this is because we want to be kept from evil, danger, calamity, wicked men…we want to live long.

Health
Exercise is getting very popular among many men and women, old and young. Countless people are eating healthy or making healthier meal choices because they want to prosper in their health.

General Prosperity
People are pursuing prosperity in self-development, finances, and marriages. Every body is striving to achieve the total well being status.

Long Life And Prosperity Is God’s Plan
This is a very healthy desire. It was the plan of God for man, it still is. Before God created Adam, He provided all Adam needed and had planned an immortal life for man. That was until Adam and Eve disobeyed Him. Man lost all of that, provision, protection and immortality.
But He (God) by sending His only begotten son to earth to take on man’s sins restored us to that state in Him.

Unfortunately, today, many try to attain this total well being; this length of life, without God, our Creator and for some Father too.
So we struggle, toil, and get frustrated. Some achieve “so much” yet remain dissatisfied because they place the cart before the horse.

Please note that God does not promise us life without challenges but He does promise deliverance for us.

Find Wisdom, Find Long Life And Prosperity
Long life and prosperity is found and attained only by finding and embracing God’s wisdom.

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
Proverbs 3:13-18 KJV

What Is Wisdom?
Wisdom is comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God. Proverbs 4:11 (AMP)
It is discernment: knowing what to do, how to do it and when to do it.
Wisdom is knowing God’s word and applying it.

Wisdom is The Word of God. Hearing and obeying God’s word is wisdom. Matthew 7: 24
Jesus is The Word of God. John 1: 1-3
Jesus is Wisdom. 1 Corinthians 1: 30, Colossians 2: 2-3

Long life and prosperity is found in God’s Wisdom, God’s word, God’s Son Jesus Christ.

Do you desire Long life and prosperity?
Do you have Jesus as Lord?
Do you read or hear God’s word and obey?

Love it! Prosperity without God isn’t prosperity at all. It’s an endless search. You’re always trying to fill a void and never satisfied. But once you gain that godly wisdom you talked about, you know prosperity is on the inside.

Thanks for your post. Can you explain what you mean by prosperity? When I hear that word it sounds like success by means of financial or popularity.

What I mean by prosperity is: Total well being of a man- spirit, soul, body.
I mean to advance, make progress, succeed, be profitable, welfare, happiness, peace, ease, rest, security, good things… And I came back to add, spiritually, physically, emotionally, maritally and all round.

Dear Sis, it’s quite true that the best things in life are given by God. Whatever we accomplish without him is like a fake certificate which has no value! The blessings of God DO make rich without adding sorrow. I pray the Lord satisfies you with a long life and good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Stay blessed!
