And a messenger of Jehovah hath spoken unto Elijah the Tishbite, `Rise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and speak unto them, Is it because there is not a God in Israel–ye are going to inquire of Baal Zebub god of Ekron?  And therefore, thus said Jehovah, The bed whither thou hast gone up, thou dost not come down from it, for thou dost certainly die;’ and Elijah goeth on. 2Kings 1:3,4 

Why do people seek satisfaction from things that do not satisfy? Why do they seek guidance and counsel from godless people and places? Why have people lost their faith in the only God who can save? Why does desperation drive men to all the wrong places instead of to the surest and most secure one? It is a deceit of the enemy to deny men of the safety that comes from remaining with and in God.

When a man turns away from the true God unto dead things, they expose themselves to the enemy rendering themselves a cheap prey in his hands. When this happens destruction is the result. Let us hold fast our confidence in the God of Israel. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, our God and Father, He alone can do that which we desire and seek, He alone is the True and living God.
