13 Sep Do Not Be Surprised
[And] not be like Cain who [took his nature and got his motivation] from the evil one and slew his brother. And why did he slay him? Because his deeds (activities, works) were wicked and malicious and his brother’s were righteous (virtuous). Do not be surprised and wonder, brethren, that the world detests and pursues you with hatred. 1 John 3:12, 13 (AMP)
Cain was angry when His offering was disregarded; his offering was disregarded because of Him. Not because the offering was not good, but because he was not good, he was a sinful man. He got angry and killed his brother Abel. Evil cannot always stand good. When your neighbor, colleague, boss or anyone troubles you unjustly, do not wonder why; you have someone in you, someone whom the person in them is fighting against. It is called persecution, and it is very common.
If Jesus was persecuted unto death, then His followers must brace up for persecution too. When the world sees that you are different and they envy you as a result of the God you have. They may not tell you, but they do not like it, some want God but won’t want to ask you to show them how. Like Cain not wanting to ask Abel how to make his sacrifice acceptable, they cannot help it, or stand it. Do not be surprised; just continue in the right because good always overcomes evil
Jesus says you are blessed…
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Matthew 5:11
