11 Sep Bite Your Tongue
Sorry if this sounds rude or harsh but you know the tongue is one unruly organ of our body that needs a lot of harsh treatment. If not treated with strict discipline it can misrepresent the God we profess and put us into all sorts of trouble. The words we speak reveal the content of our hearts, so many times ungodly words escape from our hearts through our mouths. If you find wrong thoughts, unkind thoughts, dirty thoughts, wanting to find their ways out from your mouth, you can literarily bite your tongue… Then go deal with your heart afterwards; you can hardly erase words spoken from the hearts of people and you may not get a second chance to undo the effects of dirty or nasty words spoken to or about people. So we must learn to bite our tongues instead of letting it loose. We can ensure it produces the right words by feeding our hearts with right words from God’s word. The King James Bible says “Bridle” it and preserve your life.
If a man seems to have religion and has no control over his tongue but lets himself be tricked by what is false, this man’s religion is of no value. James 1:26 (BBE)
