To Impress God

Today's Word

To Impress God

teshuva, jesus, God, love, obey, the wordWhen God asked Noah to build the ark of safety from the destruction He was about to bring upon the earth, Noah obeyed and started building. For about 55-75 years Noah was building this ark with no flood or a raindrop in sight.
What makes this very remarkable to me is that prior to this time, Noah knew nothing about rain, never seen it, never heard about it. He stayed with God and kept building, consider the likelihood of him being mocked at, laughed at and probably reduced to being mentally sick, but he kept on till the end. God rewarded him with a covenant because of the trust he displayed in Him against all odds.
Persistence with God, following Him relentlessly in spite of what we feel, or what others may think certainly does impress God and earns one a place in His kingdom.

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62 KJV

I’ve come to realise that whatever we need to do or go through, God has pre-prepared us for it. Yes, it may sometimes seem to be the worst situation we could imagine while going through it but with hindsight, it never looks as bad as we thought. In order to persist, we need help=grace, to keep our eyes on the One from whom we draw our strength. Stay blessed, Ugochi.

    Hi Ugochi,
    Truly, persistence pays.
But isn’t it a contradiction. Faith and Works and Grace.
Faith that God exists, Good Diligent and Faithful Works daily, every minute, every second all under duress to satisfy and please God.

    My comfort however comes from
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
    Matt 11:28-30

It is no contradiction bro, each has its purpose in our lives. Yes, God’s yoke is EASIER!

Hebrews 11v6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
This is my prayer “Lord help us to seek you diligently” IJN. Amen. In this journey there is no arrival post. We keep seeking Him forever until eternity. Have a great day ma. Thanks for the blog.
