16 Aug Then The Queen Was Put Away
Let’s have a flashback; The King Ahasuerus A.K.A King Xerxes was having a party in his palace. He drank so much wine, got so “merry” in his heart and seemed to lose his reasoning. He requests that his queen, his bride, come before his subjects, their subjects to “display” her beauty. Of course she feels embarrassed and feels that was too “belittling” (I kind of think so too) so she refuses and gets “put away” as a result. Esther 1 As much as I think the king’s request was absurd as it came from a lack of control, I think that we can learn a thing or two from this story.
God is the king of all kings and often times His instructions sound and look absurd to us, only difference is, He is never out of His mind and He knows way more and better than we do, He created and sustains us, plus His plans for us are all good and for these reasons no matter how “foolish” His instructions may seem, we must either choose to follow them and get blessed or disregard them and get “put out” of the kingdom in the end.
