The Faith Question

teshuva, jesus, God, love, obey, the word“Yay, I can swim!” Actually I started just about 4 days ago, still in the beginning stage, but it is going well. This is not about swimming… it is related somehow anyhow. Once while I was under water swimming (which is the only way I know how… for now) I was getting out of breath and I was so desperate to for breath that I beat, pushed and leaped until I got my head out of the water for that breath I so needed.

My point? When we really desire to see God’s promises come to pass in our lives, if our faith is strong and our trust is firm, our actions would naturally follow suit. No wonder Jesus asked the sick man who had lain for thirty-eight years by the pool of Bethesda, even knowing the obvious, if he did want to become well. Funny question isn’t it? Read this verse again and see if you understand what I am trying to communicate.

When Jesus noticed him lying there [helpless], knowing that he had already been a long time in that condition, He said to him, Do you want to become well? [Are you really in earnest about getting well?] John 5:6 (AMP)
