Stay Dead

Today's Word

Stay Dead

teshuva, jesus, God, love, obey, the wordIf you do not think it, you probably would not do it. I remember one time when my husband did something I didn’t like and I was planning on how to get at him in my mind then God hushed my thoughts.  I didn’t do it.

One other time, I ignored God’s hush, meditated on it, toyed with it, even rehearsed it and gave “it” back to him. I felt God’s disappointment that I didn’t listen, and boy did that hurt?

You know when we give our lives to Christ, we die to sin and it is always good to STAY DEAD to sin forever, never sneeze and never wake up. We cannot desire death to sin and think that we may continue in it because grace covers us and God does understand. We must make our minds up that since we have died to sin, we must make the most certain we remain dead… never waking.

…Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? Romans 6:2 (NLT)

God help me, I can be unforgiving some times…as you rightly pointed out, as a believer we should stay dead to sin.
