If Only You Knew

Today's Word

If Only You Knew

teshuva, jesus, God, love, obey, the wordSo many times God demands something from us, so many times things we so treasure. Many times we struggle, ignore, or out rightly refuse to give. But God does not ask us just because He needs it, there is nothing we have that He has not given us in the first place. He asks us to give because He wants to put us in a position to receive His blessing. You see, God must follow His principles and He wants to help us to be blessable, He asks us to give so we can receive from Him.

What is that thing God is asking you to give? He wants you give it because He has more in store for you, not because He wants to take it away or He does not want you to have. He wants to give you in abundance… Look what He said to the Samaritan woman after He had asked her for water:

…”You don’t know what God wants to give you, and you don’t know who is asking you for a drink. If you did, you would ask me for the water that gives life.” John 4:10 (CEV)

We can’t receive if our hands are closed and holding on to what we think we need. If we only knew…we’d quickly throw our open hands up in full surrender. What a blessed reminder Ugochi.
