Daily Bread

When Jesus taught us (His children who follow hard after Him) to pray He said we should always ask for our daily bread. Matthew 6. He already has it ready for us but He still wants us to desire it enough to ask it from Him, God likes to be wanted and looked up to.

You may not have all that you want but God is a good God and faithful too. He will give you what you need when you need it, He may not give you yesterday’s meal today, but if you look up to Him He sure will give you today’s meal today. He may not give you next year’s rent today, but He will give you the rent this year when it is needed.

God is a God of abundance and He wants to abundantly bless us, but many times He wants that daily trust, that daily dependence, that daily reliance on Him, that daily trust that keeps us coming to Him. No matter how hard pressed you are, God will not let you starve, if you look to Him, He will supply your needs right on time.

The Lord will not allow the [uncompromisingly] righteous to famish, but He thwarts the desire of the wicked. Proverbs 10:3 (AMP)
