teshuva, jesus, God, love, obey, the wordI have heard a lot of believers asking to know what their calling is as a Christian. There are so many “big” things we all want to do for God and His kingdom and He does appreciate the fact that we long and desire such. But there are two fundamental callings every believer; whether old or young, ordained minister or layman has been commanded to fulfill, the Ministry of Reconciliation and the Ministry of prayer. I want to talk a bit on the former here.

When we got reconciled to God, He gave us a ministerial mandate of reconciling others to Him too. Every child of God has this call upon him or her, no matter what other duties we perform or roles we play in the kingdom, we must win and disciple souls for God. And we can do this by speaking to them and living Christ-like lives.

…All things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him]. 2 Corinthians 5:18
