I Can’t Help But Wonder

Today's Word

I Can’t Help But Wonder

teshuva, jesus, God, love, obey, the wordBut Ruth answered, “Don’t force me to leave you. Don’t make me turn back from following you. Wherever you go, I will go, and wherever you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God.” Ruth 1:16 (GW)

I have always wondered about Ruth’s love for Naomi. How she held on to her commitment to her. And reading this verse again I couldn’t help but wonder; Ruth must have seen something, or rather someone in Naomi, something /someone she did not want to lose, or miss. Ruth never saw the God of Israel but she saw Naomi, she never heard His voice but she heard Naomi’s, she didn’t know the God of Israel but she knew Naomi. Naomi was not a perfect woman, but I dare say she must have had such undeniable qualities of a godly woman.

Is there possibly someone who has seen God in me? Someone who has so seen God in me that will be willing to follow me wherever, however, whenever? Has my life been a true representation of the God whom I profess to follow? If someone who has never known God, never heard Him or heard of Him meets me, can the person say he/she has met God…or His child?

Have you ever wondered about this about you? Just wondering…
