Brokenness

Today's Word

Brokenness

teshuva, jesus, God, love, obey, the wordIf you are like me, you want your life to constantly please God, you want your life to be a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to Him. This can only happen when we are constantly broken.
To be broken means to be tamed, trained or reduced to submission. This means we are at a place where our hearts are constantly humble before God, where our hearts are constantly pliable in His hands. It means we are penitent when we do wrong, quick to obey His instructions and full of His love. If we desire this, to be broken; we can ask Him to break us and make us completely and constantly yielded to Him. He is the only one that can help us, but we must desire it and cry out for it. Then, our lives will become pleasing and acceptable to Him.

My sacrifice [the sacrifice acceptable] to God is a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart [broken down with sorrow for sin and humbly and thoroughly penitent], such, O God, You will not despise. Psalms 51: 17 (AMP)
