22 May Strip Off Those Parasites
Parasites are mostly unwanted… and deadly. Living in this world can many times get very tough because we are swimming against the tide. But swim against the tide we must in order to get to the destination of our dream, and we are not without help. We must look away from all the distractions and enticements that pull us away from God and Holy living.
The Holy Ghost is able and willing to help us deal with those parasitic sins that insist on weighing us down and holding us back from surfing against the tide on the wings of The Spirit.
Another thing that can keep us going is focusing like Jesus did, on the joy of the crown, when we keep our eyes on the crown then the cross and its shame and its pain become easier to bear because we know the end is pain free and full of endless joys.
At the end we will be seated with The Almighty in Glory, and then we will be thankful that we stripped off those parasitic sins that were hell bent on keeping us away from eternal bliss.
Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,
Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1,2
