Our Succourer

Today's Word

Our Succourer

teshuva, jesus, God, love, obey, the word

We live in a real world where hunger, sickness, death and pain are as real as the trees and birds and all that we can see and touch. Several times we might wonder why these things have to be and why even believers have to face such temptations, tests and trials. But we can rest in God’s word in Jeremiah 29:11 and Romans 8:28, God has our best at heart and can turn things around for good for us.

What’s more? Knowing that our High priest, our Advocate, Our Intercessor, Jesus the risen Lamb of God is able to run to our aid, to bring us relief from pain, to bring us comfort in sorrow because he faced all that we face now, he felt all the pain we feel now, He grieved and sorrowed like us too. He will give us succour!

For because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted (tested and tried), He is able [immediately] [c]to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and tested and tried [and who therefore are being exposed to suffering]. Hebrews 2: 18

{Melinda} Pain is part of the fall. It is so difficult sometimes to accept when we know He could heal our pain. Yet, I know it’s my pain that brings me close to Him. This is not our home. More and more, I look forward to a place where pain is gone forever.
