TODAY’S WORD

TODAY’S WORD

SAY GOODBYE

teshuva, jesus, God, love, obey,

The God who has given us life demands our total commitment above everything and everyone. So many times the pursuit of “things” tends to consume our time and distract our hearts from God.

We awake early and begin the day in a rush, busy all day and come home too tired for nothing more than food and sleep.

We desire to be blessed of God but some how those things He has blessed us with are the same things that draw us from Him; our Jobs, our spouses, our children, our houses, our money, our businesses and many more…

But if we must follow God effectively and in a manner that pleases Him, He tells us that we must “let go” of these things.

When it comes to Him, seeking His presence, studying His word and obeying His commands, we must not allow people or things hinder us, we must say good-bye to anything that wants to stand between us and God, He makes no room for excuses. Are you giving Him any?

Luke 14:33(AMP)

So then, any of you who does not forsake (renounce, surrender claim to, give up, say good-bye to) all that he has cannot be My disciple.

That’s a big one! Carrying so much stuff on our heads and shoulders, filling our hearts and minds with worry and wordly pleasures, holding on to everyone and everything… It’s no wonder we hardly have any room left for God. How right you are but how sad it is, when we replace God with his gifts. Deut 8:11 – Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God… 8:12 – Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down… May we receive godly wisdom to get our priorities right!

Food for thought! I am guilty of this…making excuses as to why i don’t make time for him sometimes. Thanks for sharing.

Good point. Relying on His grace for each day, worshiping in Spirit and Truth. He is available we just need to take time to tune in. Happy, Monday Ugochi! 😉
