09 Jan CAN THESE BE SAID OF ME?

I always want to look in “The Mirror” and know how I look at all times.
Do you know that all over the provinces of both Macedonia and Achaia believers look up to you? The word has gotten around. Your lives are echoing the Master’s Word, not only in the provinces but all over the place. The news of your faith in God is out. We don’t even have to say anything anymore—you are the message! People come up and tell us how you received us with open arms, how you deserted the dead idols of your old life so you could embrace and serve God, the true God. They marvel at how expectantly you await the arrival of his Son, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescued us from certain doom.
I asked myself one simple but thought provoking question: Can This Be Said Of Me?
Can you re-read those verses and see the weight of what Apostle Paul said of the Thessalonian Christians?
He said to put it in very simple terms: “everyone knows you follow Christ so we don’t need to tell them, anything about Christian living, they see it in you, you are examples to every one of what a Christian should be.”
“Believers look up to you” Not just because you dress the part, look the part or talk the part but because…
“Your lives are echoing the Master’s word!”
“And we really do not have to preach any more because your lifestyle does the work”
Oh boy!
I wondered if anyone, my pastor, brethren in Church, my husband, children, friends, neighbours or even acquaintances could say these of me.
I always like to know that I am following God like He wants and I am doing the things that please Him, things that would lead others to Him and expand His kingdom.
In an attempt to gain more understanding of what was being said I decided to back up to the preceding verses and I saw in verse 3:
As we call to mind your work of faith, your labor of love, and your patience of hope in following our Master,Jesus Christ, before God our Father. (Emphasis mine)
I now got to know what I needed to do to be sure I live as an example;
I must grow in faith as I study and practice God’s word
I must love and serve God (and others) with all my heart
I must live my life in continual conscious remembrance that Christ’s return is imminent. I must keep my hope to spend eternity with Him alive.
And I must work out my salvation with fear and trembling
I want to live a life that glorifies God, a life that will cause men to turn from sin and desire to know Him as Lord, Saviour and Master. I want my life to be a living message to a dying world. And more importantly, I want to hear God say to me “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
How about you? Do you desire to be spoken of like Apostle Paul spoke of the Thessalonian Church? Tell me what you think, just leave me a comment in the comment box when you scroll further down.

Posted at 13:08h, 15 JanuaryOh, I so want to live that – to be that! Day by Day, I try to bring the love of Jesus Christ to where I am planted – I probably do it ungracefully, imperfectly – but oh, your post is my heart’s desire!!!
Wishing you blessings this week – your post was such a cheerleading call to start my day!

Posted at 15:40h, 14 JanuaryHi Ugochi
I appreciate and understand the cry of your heart for it is also mine. But I know that no matter how hard I try, I cannot be like Jesus or do what He would have done, so I have learned to abide in Him, allowing Him to live His life in and through me! This is truly grace!
Much love to you XX

Posted at 23:04h, 12 JanuaryThat was beautiful Ugochi, and I truly believe that you fully shine the love of God in your posts. I imagine that in person you are inspiring just as Paul wrote. I long to be an example that Paul speaks of. I look at some amazing blogs and writings of some incredible women of God, and I am blown away and pray to be able to show the same love for the Lord in my life.
I love your posts. They always give me something to think about. Have a wonderful weekend!

Yes my friend, as with you, my only desire is that people see Christ in me and that I’m constantly challenging myself to make sure that, and only that is portrayed in my life! Great post my friend! Posted at 15:03h, 10 JanuaryI can definitely relate to this, Ugochi, but at my age I am wondering more about the legacy I am leaving for my children, my husband, my family, and my close friends. Do they see Christ in me? Do they see His mercy and grace exemplified through me? Have I been pointing them to Him in all things?
Ugochi, I can definitely see Jesus in you and in your posts. I am always blessed to read what you write even though I don’t always comment on them.
A blessed 2013 to you and yours!

Posted at 14:31h, 10 JanuaryThe essence of christainity is to be like Christ in everyway but we are so at ease with our bodies that the thought of BEING like Christ becomes scary. But I know that the work of BEING like Christ was finished on the cross. Not by might…… We should learn to accept this truth and walk in the liberty where Christ has set us free. (From ourselves)

Posted at 13:03h, 15 January…”But I know that the work of BEING like Christ was finished on the cross. Not by might…… ” Really drives it home for me. Thanks friend, I really appreciate you coming by and leaving this note. Have a super blessed day!

Posted at 02:22h, 10 JanuaryWow. It’s amazing how many times we look into the “mirror” which is the Word and see ourselves. Big problem. We should see the reflection of Christ. I’ve gotta die to my will daily and let His will be done. Thanks for this great reminder.
