My Victory Verse

My Victory Verse

victory verseDo you have any bible verse that strikes a chord whenever you hear it or read it, one that you always enjoy meditating on and speaking about? One that has left a sweet memory and melody in your heart, one that gets you to sing and dance whenever you remember the victory you won by it? I believe any follower of Christ who has been through any difficulty in life has that one striking Bible verse or some scriptures that gave them solace and victory.

Before I got married, I was told I had tuberculosis, I expected my husband to leave me at that time but he stood right with me, that is another story…
After we got married, the doctors told me my womb was turned upside down and I had Pelvic inflammatory disease, making it impossible for me to conceive. I was heartbroken; every month when I saw my period I would break down and cry. In fact,  I didn’t need to tell my husband when my period came because he always saw it on my face.
But one morning, I read some scriptures that got my hopes and faith up:
1 Corinthians 2:4, 5
4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
The doctors had wisdom to know and to discover the problems with the human body, so they only told me what they saw (Like my husband would always say). But when I read these scriptures it occurred to me that the power of God can handle anything and any situation.
That was when I made the switch:  I refused to depend on the wisdom of men but to rely on the power of God. I have read, heard and seen the demonstration of God’s power and I had to believe that His power can come through for me too. The moment I stood on this scripture and began to rejoice in God’s love for me, His power and ability to make me a mother of children, and bam! I took in for my first son Joshua. God yet again revealed the superiority of His power over the wisdom of the world, and of men.
I don’t know what your doctor, accountant, lawyer or whoever must have told you, I don’t care what situation you face right now, remember that God’s power is bigger and stronger than what you face and the wisdom of this world or man. If you would hold on to God’s word and don’t let your faith go, He will come through for you, like He did for me.
Do you like me have a scripture that God used as a tool for your victory, one of your victory verses? I will be glad to hear it!

    I love this post.

At times, when i look at the situation around me i will begin to meditate on the promises of God for my life.

Jer. 29:11:- For i know the thought i have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm, plans to give you hope and a future.
Phil.4:19:- The Lord will supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

God indeed works in ways we cannot see and his ways are def not our ways, he does things more than we can phantom, I’m so glad to read your testimony, it gave me hope.

I get my encouragement from a lot of verses.

“Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your path” proverbs 3:5-6

    “Jesus wept” john 11 :35

There are times I feel my faith is all burnt out(in comatose). I meditate on these two verses

Psalm 46:10 Psalm 46: 10 “Be still, and know that I am God.

Eccl 3:11 “He hath made every thing beautiful in his time”
