LEVELLING UP

LEVELLING UP

I learnt something the other day from an incident. My son number 2 walks into the kitchen and asks if he could have some wine (non -alcoholic, we don’t do alcohol)  and daddy asks why; his response is he needs some sugar to level up. We were too amused to even ask what he meant but I think I figured it out all by myself.
He wanted some more energy to run around, our house is the athlete’s field and the furniture would be the games. As I sat and thought of it I was reminded that as believers  If we must accomplish our dreams in life Then we must constantly level up. Not with sugar this time but by constant in filling of The Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 5:18 (ISV)
Stop getting drunk with wine, which leads to wild living, but keep on being filled with the Spirit.

Just like we need food or water to function, we need constant levelling up, constant in filling of the Holy Ghost in order to function properly in our spirits. My sons’s action and response brought this strong on my mind. We cannot afford to lose our spiritual steam or run on half engine tanks, it is very risky as a believer to think the drink for yesterday will suffice for today, we must keep drinking.
Have you ever noticed that when you have not drank in from The Holy Ghost you just struggle through the day? All the bad thoughts, words and attitudes seem to want to flood your day. Irritability and impatience also tend to creep in on you. In fact, to sum it up, you will not have a satisfying day. I have had this experience, and it is not a funny one.

God has told us that without Him we can do nothing:
John 15:5 (GW)
“I am the vine. You are the branches. Those who live in me while I live in them will produce a lot of fruit. But you can’t produce anything without me

So trying to live our lives in the flesh, without spending time with and in Him to draw strength, is to our own detriment. I have learnt that I must constantly desire this infilling, I must constantly ask for it and open up to receive Him. Because it is only in Him, I can find strength and help. I must constantly run to Him for the drink that I need to keep my spirit alive and healthy.

Zechariah 4:6 (CEV)
He said, “… ‘Your help will not come from your own strength and power. No, your help will come from my Spirit.’ This is what the LORD All-Powerful says.

Do you find time to keep on drinking, do you find time to LEVEL UP?!
