We have lost so many great relationships, profitable businesses, several opportunities: We have hurt people, both those we know and those we met but only once, we have written off people who would have been a blessing to us or us to them just because we judged them from what we saw. What they wore, what they said or where they were without trying to see WHO they really are. They might have been ignorant, un-aware, lost in sin and in dire need of our love and help. They might have been destiny helpers and very important part of our lives too. We are often in too much of a hurry to pass judgements or put off people, and we often make mistakes as we do.
Appearances are most times very deceptive and first impressions cannot be counted on. We all need to pray for a God-like vision so we can see people like He sees them.
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.”1Samuel 16:7 (ESV) (Emphasis mine)
